South Padre Photo Contest
Here Are Some Tips From The Expert
The following are guidelines that will be furnished to the judges. Please review these so that you are aware of how the competition is being judged. You should also read the Terms and Conditions.
- Any photograph that does not meet the requirements specified in our Terms and Conditions will be disqualified.
- Winners from each category (First, Second and Third place) will be determined based on the points the entry receives.
- 75% of the final score is based on composition, creativity, lighting, and focus (depth of field)
- 15% of the final score will be judged as to South Padre and/or Port Isabel content
- 10% of the final score is given base on the description submitted with the picture.
- In case of a tie in points a vote will be taken from all judges as to the best entry
The judges decisions are final
- Complete information. Accurate registration is required to qualify for any award.
- Contest is NOT open to professional photographers, sponsors or their employees and they are not eligible for prizes.
- Contestants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Entries must be submitted before May 1, 2008. No limit to the number of submissions
- It is MANDATORY that South Padre Island and or Port Isabel content be apparent in the picture.
- Image size should be no larger than 1024 pixels wide by 728 pixels tall (4:3 ratio). (Larger images are resized automatically by the server upon submission)
- Images with obvious altered content (i.e. Photoshop software, etc.) will be disqualified. No borders, text or watermarks are allowed on photograph. *
*Cropping and adjusting color levels and contrast within software is OK.
